Happy anniversary to Lorraine and Marlon Charles. A year ago today they had a lovely ceremony on Georgica Beach and reception in East Hampton. And yes, the lobster was delicious.

Summer is ending, the fall art season begins and both came together beautifully on pier 63 this Wednesday. Erik invited me to check out a preview performance that danscores will offer this season. It was a lovely evening to be on the pier and we looked out over the water to see?the Tribute in Light over the WTC site. The dance captured here is an excerpt from the haunting piece, Aktun Spukil, depicting the flight of the Maya who hid in caves from the Spaniards during the war of cats. At one point in the dance the music stopped and the singing continued. It took a moment to realize that it was one of the dancers singing as their bodies continued moving and her voice floated over the river.
