Pushback

The Center in NYC is teaming with the Center in LA on Project Pushback, an initiative to create video messages on marriage equality. This one, called Helen's Story, is from a contest in 2004. I can't compete this time around, but if you know some creative people out there pass this on.

tribeca

Saw my first film at the Tribeca Film Festival last night, An Englishman in New York, excellent. With John Hurt as Quentin Crisp, Cynthia Nixon as Penny Arcade, Swoosie Kurtz as Connie Clausen, Denis O'Hare as Phillip Steele and Jonathan Tucker as Patrick Angus. Directed by Richard Laxton who also did The Naked Civil Servant. Got a kick out of seeing a very familiar face on the screen of a sudden.

bike path I

Yesterday was my first day back on the Hudson River bike path. It was a perfect spring day the clouds were so light and fluffy. You can expect more photos from the bike path over the next several months.

Little Edie

Basil asked me to have him over to watch Grey Gardens since he doesn't have HBO, so I invited him and a few other friends in the neighborhood. Rick stole the show when he showed up as little Edie.

birdwatch II

On a tip from other birders we hit the model boat pond on the east side this morning and saw a yellow-throated warbler. It flew up and perched on a branch right over our heads. Incredible.

moma

The Kippenberger exhibit at MOMA yesterday. TGI Target Free Friday - it was the usual mob scene and the garden was closed for some reason. The western photographs were cool too if you go.

hernshead

The view north from Hernshead in Central Park yesterday a little after 7 in the morning. No herons on the pond yet. There were Canadian Geese, Shovelers, Mallards and Cormorants. Later on we saw some beautiful Goldfinches.

spring migration

An oldie, but a goodie. Yep, it's that time of year again. Today is my first day with birdies and it's supposed to be beautiful.

hair

One of the highlights of yesterday was Andrew taking me to see the musical Hair. For the final bow they recap two of the numbers and invite the audience up on stage to dance with them.
