salon

Joe debuted his salon concept on Sunday evening and it was a smashing success. I volunteered to host the next one. The pressure is on.

keeping it real

Last night the Center had a party to celebrate more of it's appearance on MTV's Real World Brooklyn. Three housemates were there including JD, who worked in the advocacy department. The new volunteers had a great time doing interviews and documenting the party.

flurries

And just to remind us who is really in control here. We saw some flurries on the vernal equinox. Reaction in the city ranged from delight to disgust.

tree

Today I hit Central Park on a cloudy, almost spring afternoon thinking there might be some early buds on the trees. Only a few willows on the pond had started to turn green. But I did find this sad little tree to one side of the great hill, holding on to it's brown leaves from the fall. The vernal equinox is less than a week away. I will have to go back and check on it.

view II

Last night Luis's former neighbors in Brooklyn had a party for him. They were really nice and the place had a great view. With temps in the 60s in NYC yesterday you could enjoy being out on the terrace. Luis's old apartment next door had a view down to the Statue of Liberty.

The Pulse Art Fair was very busy last night after a write up in the Times. Angelo is exhibiting an enormous new work, Hadal, that got a lot of attention.

UFOs in NYC

Yes, the posting is late today. I had a show to finish. But on the way to drop it off tonight I ran into this at Columbus Circle. Priceless.

empire II

On the way to another workout with Basil, I pause to take a picture. I'm late, but he understands and gets on the bike while I catch up.

empire

Basil really liked the lighting on the Empire State Building Monday night. Here's the view from 23rd Street. After our workout we had dinner with Luis in the neighborhood.

working sunday

I missed the blog post yesterday, not because I was recovering from the party on Saturday, rather I was working - it was the second day of training for our new camera class at the Center.
