Today is Drew's birthday. I met him shortly after his birthday last year, when I was working on a project in L.A. This moment was captured on my third visit. Drew sometimes tolerated my relentless camera work. I hope he can forgive me for this blog entry. I asked Cullen to do the music tracks for the project I was working on. He did a great job coming up with an urban vibe, that I think really says L.A. Since this did happen in LaLa I went ahead and threw a track in with some other stuff I shot on different trips out last year. My little homage to Drew and the City of Angels. Many happy returns, Drew!

Helene e-mailed me the other day that she was in Baltimore and coming up to NYC for the day, could I meet with her? Of course! We had a drink at Henrietta Hudson's and then ran to Port Authority so she could catch her bus back to Baltimore. Along the way we talk about the last time Helene was in New York (it was during 9/11) and her recent 40th birthday. I first met Helene at Wichita State University back in '86 or '87. She had come over from Denmark for a year to study in the Land of Oz. Time flies, doesn't it? Speaking of which, someone else has a 40th birthday coming up.... Heads up: celebrations will take place in NYC over Labor Day Weekend 2007. Book your travel now, or miss out.
